David Breuer-Weil (1965)
David Breuer Weil Melzi Fine Art

David Breuer-Weil was born in London in 1965 and grew up in North London. In 1985 he went to Central St. Martin's School of Art before attending Clare College in Cambridge. After leaving Cambridge he was awarded a bursary at Sotheby's. His work frequently explores ideas of humanity, history and existence.

In the early years of his artistic practice Breuer-Weil created a large body of small scale 'Neracian' works on paper inspired by his own imaginary world of Nerac. Nerac also features prominently in Breuer-Weils epic painting cycles known as the Project, symbolic of the trials and tribulations of modern life; he has already conceived the idea of painting the Project as early on as 1989 when he staged his first exhibitions. The shows have been highly acclaimed, with John Russel-Taylor of The Times hailing him a "colossal talent".

Breuer-Weil works are hosted in museums such as Ben Uri Museum in London and Museo Berardo in Lisbon, and his monumental sculptures has been exhibited in public spaces in London and elsewhere around the world. He lives and works in London.
